Recently, WITIN’s Executive Director paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Fatima Waziri-Azi, Ph.D., former Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), at her office in Abuja.
Prof. Fatima has long been a source of inspiration. Her bold leadership and unwavering commitment to justice left a lasting legacy in Nigeria’s fight against human trafficking.
The meeting focused on exploring meaningful partnership opportunities between Women in Technology in Nigeria (WITIN) and Prof. Fatima’s current organization, the Safe Haven Foundation – For Domestic Violence Survivors (SHF). SHF is a Nigerian nonprofit dedicated to preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) through survivor-centered, trauma-informed care.
Together, WITIN and SHF aim to combine strengths—advancing technology-driven empowerment while prioritizing safety, healing, and resilience for women and girls.
We look forward to the impactful work ahead and the lives we will touch together.
