At NiGF 2023, the discourse acknowledged the underrepresentation of women in Nigeria’s digital space, particularly in decision-making roles. Mrs. Martha, representing Women in Technology in Nigeria (WITIN), highlighted the vulnerability of certain demographics—including women and girls—to cybercrime. She showcased WITIN’s successful implementation of the NCC’s “Shine Your Eyes” cybersecurity awareness project in Ibadan. This initiative, which leveraged a bottom-up approach by engaging community leaders, demonstrated WITIN’s commitment to bridging the digital gender gap and enhancing cybersecurity for vulnerable populations.
