Our aim is to increase the representation of women and girls in STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) for their socio-economic advancement. WITIN is in special consultative status with the United Nations.

The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) warmly received WITIN’s Founder, Martha Alade at the OWSD Secretariat in Trieste, Italy. She paid a courtesy visit during to CODATA Data Science Summer School hosted by The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP)
Our #walk2Connect walkathon was aimed at creating awareness for #meaningfulConnectivity , #GenderEquality #DigitalInclusion #WomenPRIDEdotAFRICA . It was colourful and fun. WITIN members joined from Lagos, Anambra, Rivers, Ogun, FCT, Oyo.
The CODATA-RDA Research Data Science Summer School 2022 built competences in data analysis and security for all participants in disciplines from sciences to humanities. Topics covered included principles and practice of research data management, authorship in the 21st century, data curation, data security, Open Science, visualization, machine learning and artificial neural networks.
The activities includes practical hands-on sessions on techniques and applications for large-scale data handling, analysis, visualization and modelling on a variety of compute infrastructure including high performance compute platforms/systems.
