What we do

    Young Women Technological Skills Enhancement and Capacity Building Programs
    To retain and empower women in STEM, WITIN organizes short-term technological skills enhancement training for young women including females in tertiary institutions and fresh graduates, for professional career advancement. Trainings are hands-on; in-person, on-line and self-paced.

    Also, to encourage women to rise to the boardroom, WITIN includes training in management, entrepreneurship and leadership as well as linking young women with mentors and experts in the industry. Networking events are also organized regularly.

    Grassroots Women Empowerment though ICT-GWEIT
    Grassroots Women Empowerment Through ICT(GWEIT) is designed to socio-economically empower the Nigeria Woman in the rural and underserved commnunities through the use of ICT. WITIN target 10, 000 women by the end of 2015...read more

    Girls Hackathons and DigiCamps
    Increasing more female participation in STEM, WITIN organize hackathons for secondary school girls. Also, as part of the ITU's Girls in ICT project & Tech Needs Girls campaign, WITIN organizes Girls in ICT Day events annually; held 4th thursday of April every year.

    STEM Career Fairs
    WITIN organizes STEM career fairs for schools. Focus is on public schools; ,to give career enlightenment talks and mentorship to high school students on the opportunities available in the field of technology.

    iCamp for Adolescents
    Every summer, WITIN organize online camp for adolescents to help them discover their innate ICT talents, provide digital opportunities by exposing them to useful softwares that will advance and aid learning beyond the walls of classroom settings as well as inspire innovative tendencies in kids.

    iCamp harnesses their ICT potentials in drawing, graphics, photo editing, animations, programming etc, thereby exploring their talents. It is intended to inspire young Nigerians especially girls to become technologically competitive.

    Green ICT/STEM Teaching Aids for schools
    WITIN's Green ICT project entails use of e-Waste to build labs for schools. Computer components, which are readily available are dissembled and classified on shelves for kids to have a closer view. Challenges of power, theft, or ruining components are no longer issues...read more

    Parents and Educators Sensitization and Awareness Programs
    Child Online Protection Sensitization: The evolving and ubiquitous nature of ICT and its relevance to daily living has transformed all areas of children cognitive development including education, health, and play. Unfortunatelly, kids online are exposed to cyber attacks like bullying, rape,murder, kidnapping and so on.
    WITIN is running campaigns to sensitive the public on the need to protect children online.

    STEM Career Advocacy for Girls: WITIN sensitizes the public regularly through digital media on the need for more girls to pick careers in STEM.
